difficult to use I bought this for my 3 year old at Christmas. I was worried that he was not the most stable and good at balancing, so i thought this would be a good first scooter. In the past 6 months he hasn’t shown a lot of interest. I have watched him struggle to use it, fall, wobble, have me carry it after getting a few houses down our street. He got a little better, but looked awkward and unsafe. All his friends have the ‘mini-kick’ scooter, and all seemed to be doing great. In the end i broke down and bought him one too. 2 days ago. 2 days later, he hasn’t stopped using it. Loves it, is steady, smooth, doing tricks, and won’t stop riding it for miles and miles (literally miles). Conclusion – I was initially sold on the Radio Flyer design features figuring it would be an easier scooter for him to start with. But the steering and bulk of it make it very hard for a little person to use. I heartily suggest spending a little more on a mini-kick..

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! We recently bought this scooter in red for our 2 1/2 year old son and he loves it! He quickly figured out how to use his foot to scoot along and has been having a lot of fun with it ever since. I think the scooter is terrific and would recommend it to anyone with a younger child. The reason for the 4 star rating is because they took away the folding feature. I have two older girls that both had their own pink version of this scooter and it had a button on the handle that allowed you to fold it for easy storage. The new model no longer has this feature which makes it more difficult to store and to transport when your little one tuckers out and decides he’d rather ride in his stroller and you’re left pushing a stroller and holding a scooter that won’t fold up and fit underneath.

right idea but one huge oversight My 2 year old was super excited to get this and keep up with her older brother and sister. Excitement quickly becomes frustration because the handlebars DO NOT TURN EASY!! It turns only when my child is not riding the scooter. If she has her weight on it she physically can not turn it. So it is useless as a scooter, as she just rams into walls or it will flip when she tries to turn it when riding.
